Uninsured vehicle seized

This morning a vehicle was stopped on the A6 near Barmoor clough.  Checks showed that the driver had no insurance and the vehicle was seized under section 165 of the road traffic act.  The vehicle was removed from the scene and the driver reported for the offence.

Driving without insurance is not a minor offence—uninsured drivers create significant risks and costs for the public, police, and wider emergency services. The impact is felt financially, socially, and in terms of road safety.
